BlackBerry Latest QNX based Operating System BlackBerry BBX OS Update
BlackBerry Latest QNX-based Operating System, BlackBerry BBX OS Update | New Technology News – IT Tech | At the BlackBerry DevCon Americas 2011 in San Francisco, Research In Motion (RIM), through the Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, introduced BBX, the latest QNX-based OS, to fight their biggest competitors. Recently RIM major sales comes from the BlackBerry OS 7 smartphones, but the existence of Apple and Google in the market has now cut its market share.
RIM has long been preparing for the BBX project, and its planned to be integrated with the new BlackBerry smartphone or tablet PC. According Lazaridis, the BBX is a combination of the best qualities of older RIM BlackBerrys operating systems and QNX platforms, which have previously been used in tablet Playbook.
Its said the BBX platform will include BBX-OS, and support the BlackBerry Cloud services and development for HTML5 and the original developer. BBX will also support applications developed using one of the apps currently available for BlackBerry Playbook, including the SDK, Adobe AIR / Flash and WebWorks/HTML5, Runtime BlackBerry and Android applications. In the future BBX will be tablet-based and smartphone-based.
BBX will also include the latest BlackBerry Cascades UI Framework for a more advanced graphics and bring the Super App to enable capabilities such as deeper integration between applications, Push, BlackBerry Messenger and many more services.
At RIMs official website, Lazaridis said, "By downloading BlackBerry applications as much as 5 million each day, consumers make the RIM BlackBerry as one of the most profitable platform for developers. We give developers the tools needed to build richer applications and we provide guidance on how to best develop smartphone applications and tablets, and QNX as the BlackBerry platform to meet the latest generation of our platform, BBX, "
